	Darwen District is in the County of East Lancashire and has a population of approximately 25,000. There are 8 groups, an Explorer Scout Unit. The town lies in a valley on the edge of the West Pennine Moors and is overlooked by Jubilee Tower. The surrounding countryside lends itself to exciting outdoor scouting activities and is visited on regular occasions by members from all sections.
